Why Does Popcorn Pop

  Why Does Popcorn Pop

Did you know over 250 million pounds of popcorn is sold and eaten in a year? Before we get that amazing popcorn we need to find out where we get it from.It all starts in a field with growing corn.
There are lots of types of corn but only one will pop. Why may you ask? It's because popcorn is a special type of corn which has 19% water in it.  If there is too much or not enough the popcorn won’t pop.
When the popcorn is about to pop there's no more water left there's only a lot of steam which makes the kernel go to popcorn!! Thinking about it makes the popcorn kernel explode and it's amazing.
So next time you get amazing popcorn think about how much water it needs and how it explodes into that amazing fluffy white goodness.
